Membership of The SLS is open to those from any walk of life with an interest in the considered study of Laing's intellectual legacy and its expression in contemporary politics, art and culture, as well as in respect to examination of its profound implications for the future of psychiatry.

Every effort has been made to keep the cost of membership to a minimum, and as the work of this site is undertaken entirely on a voluntary basis, membership fees are applied in their entirety toward the cost of domain hosting fees, organisation registration, commercial print & scanning services and other direct expenses.
Several types of membership are available, as detailed below. Membership can be registered and paid for online by credit card through PayPal, or by printing the form and sending a cheque by mail.
Professional Membership
· Annual fee 35.00 CDN per year
· Renewal date is date of membership
· Includes bound copy of the SLS Annual (scheduled for publication May 2004) in addition to other member privileges.
Individual Membership
· Annual fee 28.00 CDN per year
· Renewal date is date of membership
· Includes all of the privileges noted above; renewal fee for subsequent years is 24.00 CDN.
Student Membership
· Annual fee 18.00 CDN per year
· Renewal date 1 September each year
· Equivalent to the Individual Membership, prorated for academic year, September-May. )
Reduced Fee Membership
· Annual fee 12.00 CDN per year
· Renewal date is date of membership
· Equivalent to the Individual Membership, available to anyone on limited means due to life circumstances (sole support parent, benefits recipient, etc.)
